Pump Stations

Pump stations contain pump units (a pump and electric motor) that provide the necessary force to keep the liquid moving through the pipeline. The ten pump stations along the route will be located at optimal hydraulic points along the right-of-way corridor.

  • All of the pump stations will be enclosed to provide additional safety
  • Pump stations will be operated remotely and will be electrically powered to limit noise and environmental disturbance
  • Assuming a flow rate of 525,000 barrels of oil a day, the product will flow at about 4 km/hour and take more than 12 days to travel the length of the line
  • The stations will be monitored 24/7 using SCADA
