Vessel Safety
- Vessel travel speed will be reduced in the marine channels to between 8 and 12 knots
- All vessels entering Kitimat will be modern and double-hulled
- All vessels will be under the direction of experienced and certified local marine pilots to provide guidance through coastal waterways
- Only vessels meeting our high safety and environmental standards will be permitted at our terminal
- Operational safety limits will be established to cover visibility, wind and sea conditions
